ERMITA DEL SEÑOR

Este santuario está en uso desde el siglo XIX, aunque su forma arquitectónica, muy similar a la qubba (sepulcro cubierto por una cúpula, muy común en el norte de África), sugiere que podría tener un origen mucho más antiguo.
La ermita, de planta cuadrangular, tiene cuatro metros de lado y está rematada por un tejado piramidal. La puerta está orientada al sur y enmarcada por un pequeño frontón cuadrado.
Esta edificación está muy vinculada a la fiesta denominada “El niño del Huerto” que se celebra durante la Semana Santa. La imagen del Niño Jesús se traslada en un trono desde la iglesia parroquial hasta el interior de la ermita, donde aguarda a la llegada de la Virgen del Rosario para dar lugar a las carreras de aproximación entre tronos. Con la tercera carrera se produce el emotivo momento del Encuentro y es entonces cuando ambas imágenes regresan juntas a la iglesia parroquial

Hermitahe of the Lord
This sanctuary, was in use from the 19th century, although its architectural form, whish is very similar to qubba (a dome – covered tomb, very common in North Africa), suggests that it could have much older origin.
The hermitage is square in shape, four metres each side, and is topped with a pyramid – shaped roof. The door faces south and is framed by a small square pediment.
This building is closely linked to the festival known as “El Niño del Huerto” (The Child of the Garden), which is celebrated during Semana Santa (Holy Week). The image of Jesus is carried on a throne from the parish church and into the hermitage, where it awaits the arrival of the Virgen del Rosario (Virgin of the Rosary) and the approaches between the two thrones. The third approach ends in the momento of el Encuentro (meeting) and then both images return together to the parish church.
